  • Indian Scout: The most affordable Indian Motorcycle in the world is the best looker of the lot as well. It is available in India for a price tag of Rs 11.99 lakhs only!

  • Suzuki Inazuma: Did you know Inazuma is India’s cheapest twin cylinder motorcycle..? Yes, it was launched at some real impractical prices, but after the price slash of 1 Lakhs, it did become a fairly decent buy, specially considering what it offered for tourers! It is being withdrawn from the market for lack of sales but we hope it returns in a fairly modern avatar!

  • Bajaj Discover 150F: Yes, yet another Discover, but it did manage to impress us as a decent commuter, with fairly responsive engine and at great prices. You can read our official road test review here.

  • Yamaha FZ Version 2.0: It has lost some figures in both power and torque terms, but gained the all-important Fuel Injection, which irons out the biggest shortcoming, fuel efficiency. Check out our detailed road test review here.

BikeAdvice Top 5 Motorcycle Launches in 2014

The following top five motorcycles have added a lot of glam as well as character to the Indian motorcycle industry. Not only are they benchmark performers (not necessarily in outright speed) in their respective segments, they, according to us are great additions to our maturing market…So here goes the TOP 5…

  1. Kawasaki ER-6N: A naked Ninja 650 at a price tag of Rs 4.78 lakhs. That’s just a little more than the Ninja 300. The mean muscular looking motorcycle uses the same suspension, gearbox and engine tune as that of its equivalent faired Ninja. Makes a good bargain…?

  1. Harley Davidson Street 750: The cheapest Harley available in India was launched during the Auto Expo and has opened a whole new world for the Harley Davidson fans in India. Made in India and exported to the world, the Street 750 has already made a major cult. Available at a price tag of Rs 4.30 lakhs it rightfully deserves its position.

  1. Kawasaki Z800: Z800 is the most affordable 4-cylinder motorcycle in the country. At a recently reduced price tag of about Rs 7.35 Lakhs, it can not really be called as affordable, but still is possibly the most fun to ride kwcker in India and add to it, its super-rascal looks!

  1. Suzuki Gixxer: The most successful Suzuki in the market right now has not only revived the manufacturer’s lineage in India but also taken up the premium 150 cc segment by storm. The bike promises excellent handling and a butter smooth engine. You can read our official Road Test & Review here.

  1. KTM RC 390: Everything that we say about the bike will not do full justice to it. Yes, it has its own set of flaws but it has clearly re-written the laws of affordable performance and no other manufacturer has gotten so involved! A powerful pocket rocket which has forced a lot of manufacturers to go back to the drawing boards if they have to slug it out in this territory in India!
