All of sudden, there is this entry-level adventure segment that everybody is after. BMW has already made (and unveiled) its G310 GS and Bajaj has announced that KTM 390 Adventure is under development. Next to join this segment appears to be Benelli, if this latest report at Bikewale is to be believed.
Bikewale claims that Benelli is working on a 300cc adventure motorcycle which is in its early stages of development. This motorcycle, which could be called as TRK 302, will be all new, save for the 300 cc twin cylinder engine which it will borrow from the TNT 300 and the upcoming Tornado 302 siblings. They say that it will be tuned to offer better low and mid range torque.
For this motorcycle, Benelli will develop an all new chassis, suspension etc and other parts. Work is underway but depending upon the response the upcoming TRK 502 (which is delayed to next year) will garner, they will accelerate the development process of the 302.
One look at the 502 (pictured on this page for illustration) and you can expect the 302 to be a cracker of a motorcycle but they believe that it will only come to India sometime in 2019, two years from now!
Apart from this, there are rumours of Honda XRE 190/XRE300, 400cc V-twin by UM, and confirmed announcements on Mojo Adventure and the return of Bajaj’s Adventure Sports brand.
