First UM Adventure Motorcycle may share cues from the Hypersport range which is sold internationally…
UM is cooking up a lot of plans to make their Indian foray big. They started with Renegade twins and introduced the range topping Classic and Mojave very recently. But all these motorcycles are based on the existing platform and feature the same 279 cc single cylinder engine.
The next big thing from United Motorcycles will be an ADV as confirmed by Rajeev Mishra during the last press event according to Bikewale.com. He elaborated that this mid-capacity adventure motorcycle will be powered by an engine greater than 300 cc.
This takes us straight to his earlier announcement when he revealed that the new engine will have a displacement of nearly 400 cc and that it will be a V-Twin and water cooled. The name of this adventure tourer has not been made public yet.
400cc UM Adventure Motorcycle Launch
In his latest announcement Rajeev said that the UM ADV will be launched within six months which means we are looking at a time period of around Auto Expo next year or thereabouts!
The other motorcycles to use this engine will most probably be the new, bigger Renegade cruisers which are also scheduled for a showdown sometime next year.
If UM can set themselves up across the nation by that time and introduce these twin-cylinder motorcycles at attractive prices, we do see them making inroads into the segment which is currently costly and dominated by the Japs.
