UM Renegade Classic price has increased 12 percent from its first announced price…
UM launched three motorcycles at the Auto Expo in February 2016. The most exciting Commando and Sports S were available for bookings soon after and their deliveries, though delayed, have been on for quite some time now. However the Classic was delayed from the announced ‘few months’ to almost 1.5 years. However, at a recent event, UM has finally launched their range-topping model in India.
Like its other motorcycles, Classic continues to be powered by the same 279.5 cc single cylinder fuel injected engine which produces 25.15 PS of peak power at 8500 rpm and 23 Nm of maximum torque at 7000 rpm and is paired with a 6 speed gearbox. There are no changes in the mechanicals and the speculated ABS is NOT being offered at this point.
Classic comes in two colours – Candy Metallic Glossy Black and Copper White. Which means that the maroon colour of the Auto Expo model has been given amiss.

UM, at the Auto Expo’s launch of Classic (yes, it was its launch) announced that the motorcycle will be available at Rs 1.69 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. This means that within 1.5 years of not being available, it has undergone a hike of Rs 20,000 on the ex-showroom Delhi price.
For reference, the new BS4 Renegade Commando and Sports S, which have also got fuel injection, are being sold at Rs 1,73,917 and Rs 1,66,280 ex-showroom Delhi respectively (old BS3 price Commando – Rs 1.64 Lakhs, Sports S – Rs 1.57 Lakhs).
