Hi Readers, I am Tanmoy Sengupta from Bikaner, Rajasthan. I am 23 years old and working in a Bank. I am here to tell you about my bike. A short review on my Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS which is 4 months old with its odo reading approx 3600 km. Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS, A Small Intro As we all know that Pulsar is a one of the most popular bikes in India. Pulsar has and will always be dominating high-end segments of Indian bike market viz 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc & above. There was still something missing and Bajaj then launched a bike named Pulsar 135 LS to fill out the 125cc segment space of the Indian automobile market. The Engine - At a Glimpse Pulsar has a power packed engine of 135.6 cc with 13.5 ps @ 9000 rpm. The power & pick up of this bike is pretty well and is without a doubt above all other bikes in similar 125cc segment. This beast can even be compared to the 150cc segment bikes and I am damn sure that this little machine can outplay any 150cc bike. It also has an amazing pick up and the mean machine can go from 0 to 60 Kmph in just about 5 Secs. Pulsar 135LS has got a 5 speed gear box that helps the bike with raw power and stability. I will have to bring to your notice that the Pulsar 135 LS can attain a top speed of 112 Kmph on highways, however you will begin experiencing vibrations as soon as you reach 85 Kmph. . The gearing ratio of this bike is also very well; one can go on 23 Kmph on 5th gear with nice torque Bajaj’s DTS-i technology adds to this beast’s performance because the technology burns air and fuel in a better way resulting in power and increases mileage. The approx mileage in the city is 60kmpl; however, I am yet to figure out its mileage on highways. It will run 60 km in 1 liter petrol in city. But I am not noticed its average on highways. This is very decent mileage for the most powerful bike in 125 cc segment. Looks This bike doesn’t look similar to other Pulsars. In fact it has its own unique & sporty design. Just a glimpse and you will be able to make out that its Pulsar 135 LS. Many people say that it looks similar to XCD 135, but I don’t agree with them. It has its own classy design and I think that this is most good looking bike in its class. Sitting position is pretty comfortable with slightly slant riding posture for rider for long journeys, however the position is not comfortable for pillion because the rear seat is high mounted in this like sports-bike. Split seats & double grab rails enhance its sporty design. Stylish new muffler, single gear leaver, air scoops on fuel tank and rear mudguard is makes this bike a style icon. Safety & Add-ons When a bike has decent amount of power, it has to be safe too. . Pulsar 135 is safe on high speeds due to its 240 mm front disc & 130 mm rear drum brakes. Braking system in the bike is good as you can stop the bike at any point of time without a problem. Fat rear tyre (100/90×17) helps for better grip on road. If Pulsar 135 is fitted with MPF Zapper instead of Eurogrip, it can do a much better job in terms of stability. However, Clip-on handlebar is just fine and stylish as well, this improves handling & stability. Bajaj is popular due to new features on its bikes like digital speedo, lights on handle bar switches, pilot lamps, auto choke etc. Cockpit with digital meter looks clean and has all important info which rider need would need, like fuel gauge, big techo, battery charge indicator, high beam and turning indicators with LED. Pulsar 135 is one bike that is a package of power, style and compactness. Its nitrox shock absorbers ensure a safe and smooth ride on bumpy and crooked roads. LED tail lights are impressive and they are visible from fat away as well. Pros 13 bhp, 0 to 60 in approx 5 sec. Most powerful in its segment. 60 kmpl milage. Nitrox shock absorbers. DTS-i & world’s first 135 cc 4 valve mill. Front disc brake 240 mm, ensures safe braking. Awesome design. Better for city crusing & for highways too. Good build quality. Auto choke for easy starting in all weather conditions. Cons Light weight, only 122 kg. Starts vibrations in high speed. 8 ltr small fuel tank. Hard pillion seat & uncomfortable sitting position, not suitable for long journeys (for pillion only). Pulsar 135 could do well with disc brake. Rear view mirrors are small, not so useful Final Verdict Overall, if you are looking to buy a bike in 125cc segment and want your machine to be sporty as well as economic that you should go for amazing pulsar 135 LS. This beast is best in its class and even has that potential to beat any 150cc bike. This is one sports bike with commuter abilities.
