Yamaha India has recently woken up from slumber and has become real aggressive in the Indian market. They have plans to introduce low-cost fuel injection on their bikes to get a one up lead against the competition.
Apart from that, they are busy preparing various products for our market including motorcycles and scooters. One of them is the upcoming Yamaha FZ Version 2 which has been a point of interest for the last couple of months.
Yamaha showcased it at the Auto Expo and various spyshots from different parts of the country have emerged from time to time. In an new update, a new spyshot of the motorcycle has come up courtesy Iamabiker.com which shows the motorcycle with no camouflage.
The bike looks almost the same as the concept model showcased during the Auto Expo, barring a few cosmetic changes. The split grab rail is no longer body colored but gets a dull grey coating. The side cowls also gets a similar treatment. The matte finish front suspension of the concept has been replaced by the same grey. The huge imposing tank has a big cut upfront and the headlamp, dummy air scoops etc are all new.
Unlike other spyshots where the picture always featured a test mule, this appears to be a display or ‘for sale’ motorcycle possibly at some dealership or is a shipment! The exhaust muffler is bubble wrapped to prevent scratches and the company and bike names have been taped for some reasons.
*Current FZ
Yamaha has still not leaked any engine details but their revelation that they will introduce fuel injection in all their forthcoming bikes might just be the final confirmation that our very Lord of the streets is getting the new tech instead of the ancient carburetor.

There have been various speculations all over the web right from a bigger 170cc engine to huge power increments, but we believe, the engine would continue to be the same 153cc motor but with some power increment. Anything around 15bhp is what we expect. If its more, it would be an added smile!

If FZ V2, indeed, gets fuel injection, the biggest con of the motorcycle, low fuel efficiency, will/should get sorted out. The premium 150-160cc motorcycle segment will also see the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer and Honda’s new 160cc motorcycle and Xtreme Sports.
With this spotting, it becomes apparent that Yamaha may launch it soon, very soon!
