At an unbelievable display of technical prowess today, Hero has taken the market by storm. Apart from the diesel powered turbocharged RNT concept bike and 250cc 31PS HX 250R, Hero also displayed a more powerful variant of the Xtreme called as Xtreme Sports.
The biggest change is the improvement in power figures. Xtreme Sports produces 1bhp of higher power output at 15.2bhp in comparison to the 14.2hp of the current Xtreme from the same 149.2cc motor. The torque figures however remain at 12.8Nm like the existing model. The more interesting bit here is that the increased output comes exactly at 8500rpm like the current model.
Apart from that Hero Xtreme Sports gets newer graphics and ‘Sports’ logo at the air scoops. Xtreme Sports will be launched shortly in the market and like the current Xtreme, will get an optional rear-disc brake variant.
This power increment takes the Xtreme Sports among the most powerful 150cc motorcycles in the country. Regular bits include its similar weight of 148kgs (this is 1kg lighter than the current Xtreme), dual tone rear view mirrors, new headlamp design, 5-speed gearbox, sharper headlamps with LED position lights, wider rear tyre etc.

This is the same engine which is used in Unicorn, Trigger from Honda which output lesser power. It would be interesting to see if there will be any significant drop in mileage figures of the new Xtreme Sports. Interestingly, Suzuki has just unveiled their Gixxer 155 and Bajaj has been caught testing their Pulsar 150NS very recently.
And the biggest point to note is that Hero Xtreme Sports is a different motorcycle from the Xtreme facelift that will/should be launched earlier than this.
So, all you 150cc prospect customers, just wait a bit for the fun to start.
