Xpulse 200 Timeline: It has been more than a year since Hero showcased the Xpulse. Like most of their products, this one has crossed the first officially announced timeframe as well.
Of all the achievable products (bikes that Hero can make), Xpulse 200 is the only motorcycle that has garnered interest, a lot actually! Hero debuted the ADV back at the 2018 Auto Expo on 7-8th February, in production form in India!
It was first unveiled as a concept back at the 2017 EICMA. It was OFFICIALLY announced by Hero that they will launch the motorcycle around the festive season in 2018. The motorcycle was spotted testing on the roads for the first time in November 2018 (check spy pics).
Then, out of nowhere, came the Xpulse 200T – the tourer version based on the same platform (details). Along with it, Hero also announced a delay in the launch of Xpulse. Here is how the timeline looks like..
Xpulse 200 Timeline
- November 2017 – Debut as a concept
- February 2018 – Official unveil as a production motorcycle
- Second-half of 2018 – Hero announced the launch of Xpulse in festive 2018!
- October-November 2018 – Xpulse 200T revealed
- November 2018 – First spyshots of Xpulse surface
- November 2018 – Hero officially retracts, announces delay in launch to early next year.
The indecisiveness of Hero was apparent when they said this – ‘the Xpulse is ‘likely‘ to be launched towards the beginning of next year!’
So, that makes the motorcycle, which is based on Xtreme 200R, complete one year without getting launched. Worse, ever since the last press release, they are absolutely mum on the ADV that has been promised to be priced under 1 Lakh!
REPORT CARD: Should Hero STOP Karizma to Save Further Brand Destruction?
It should be remembered that after keeping bikers waiting for four long years, Hero announced that the HX250R project was shelved because they believed that, while they were preparing the motorcycle, the market had moved on! 😀
