Upcoming Imperiale 400 BS6 May Come at a Price Shocker [Rumor]

Upcoming Imperiale 400 BS6 launch expected anytime soon but for some reason it may get the highest percentage hike in this transition…

Benelli thought of getting into the more mainstream market with its most affordable Imperiale 400. In the process, it also teased Royal Enfield’s Classics and Jawas in the retro motorcycle space. It’s original introductory launch price of Rs 1.69 Lakh was spot on against its rivals. It was recently increased to 1.79 Lakh in February (variant prices were higher – details).

However, its Bharat Stage 6 compliant model is due and it may bring with it a shocker! According to a latest online report, Imperiale BS6 may cost Rs 2.20 Lakh which is an extremely steep price hike of Rs 40,000 or over 22 percent over the current model! If it goes true, this will probably be the highest increase in the BS4 to BS6 transition in percentage terms. That it was already fuel injected makes it more exorbitant.

Rival Royal Enfield’s Classics (which moved from carburetors to fuel injection) now cost between 1.60 to 1.80 Lakh for the BS6 variants. Jawa’s BS6 models have seen a price increment of 5-6 percent (here are their variantwise prices).
