After the TRK 502s, quite clearly the 302R is the most handsome motorcycle in Benelli’s Indian portfolio. It is also the only full faired sports motorcycle the Italian cum Chinese brand has on offer here.
And since there has been no update from its Indian arm which is taken care of by the Mahavir Group, we are assuming that it can not sell motorcycles any more, because there is no Bharat Stage 6 motorcycle announced yet! It must be remembered that the Supreme Court has barred manufacturers from selling Bharat Stage 4 compliant motorcycles any more in India since 1st April 2020 (barring a minor relaxation of clearing out a fraction of the already produced stock within 10 days post lockdown).
However, it appears that dealerships will start getting upgraded motorcycles soon. A spy pic of what is purported to be the 2020 Benelli 302R BS6 has surfaced on the internet. It carries completely new color theme of white and black which has stickers in blue and yellow. Earlier, 302R’s white dual tone shade was mixed with the red color apart from other shades in the palette.

The sportster continues with dual petal disc brakes at the front, upside down front forks, split seats, dual headlamps, bulbous looks and 10-spoke alloy wheels. There will be changes to the engine and the exhaust of the motorcycle for adherence to stricter compliance.

For reference, the current model produces 38.26 PS of peak power at 11500 rpm and 26.5 Nm of max torque at 10,000 rpm from the inline twin cylinder, DOHC, water cooled, 8 valve 300cc engine. The Ninja 300 rival has a road ready listed weight of 198 kilos.
