Ola To Launch First Electric 2-Wheeler Next Year; Acquires Etergo

Ola Electric Etergo deal will provide the Indian partner almost a readily available platform. AppScooter looks brilliant…

In a press announcement, Ola Electric has shared that it has acquired Etergo BV. Founded in 2014, Etergo is a Netherlands based innovative electric scooter manufacturer which has been referred to as the Tesla of the two-wheeler world by a few publications.

In 2018, Etergo showcased its all electric scooter called as AppScooter (featured on this page). Aside everything else, you will first fall in love with the very futuristic, neat and clean Dutch design. The AppScooter has swappable high density batteries which can deliver a range of… wait a minute… 240 kms! … With class leading acceleration, Etergo adds!

With this buyout, Ola has announced the launch of electric two-wheelers in India and the world. Though it has not cleared but there is a big possibility that it may debut with the AppScooter itself. The launch timeframe set for the launch of the first ‘global’ electric two-wheeler is 2021… ie just next year!

Ola expects the EV space to get bolstered in the post COVID era. Ola says it has been currently running pilot projects to deploy electric vehicles and charging solutions across cities in India.
