Jawa BS6 changes include better braking, more cushioned seat, engine updates and more. Test rides are also now available…
Mahindra owned ‘Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd.’ – the company that manufactures Jawa branded bikes, has announced that it has commenced delivering the BS6 compliant versions of both Jawa and Jawa Forty Two motorcycles across the country.
The bikes are also available for test-rides and bookings across all its dealerships for people who want to feel the classics before buying.
Jawa BS6 Changes
Jawa and the Forty Two – both the motorcycles continue to deploy the same single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 293 cc engine, but it has now been updated with BS6 compliance. It now produces 26.51 PS of power (0.86 PS down) and 27.05 Nm of torque (down by 0.95 Nm).
The engine now features India’s first cross-port technology that increases the volumetric efficiency of the engine, by enabling better flow of air-fuel mixture and exhaust gases. The company claims that this engine is the only single-cylinder engine in the world, that uses cross-port technology, and it helps the bikes in retaining their signature twin-exhaust identity while meeting the BS6 compliance norms.
The bikes also get Jawa’s newly positioned lambda sensors that help the bikes get crisper throttle response.
Along with that, the company has worked on the seat pan and given improved cushioning to make those long rides more comfortable.
Classic Legends also claims that the motorcycles now offer shortest braking distance and best control among its competitors. That apart, the company has made a few more changes to its gearbox and the tone of the horn.
