490 Adventure Sibling Husqvarna 501 Explorer ADV Confirmed by KTM CEO

KTM’s CEO Stefan Pierer spilled a lot of beans in a recent interview. The all-new Husqvarna Explorer 501 ADV is one of them that is sure to get many excited!

Looks like the Bajaj-KTM duo is going to stop at nothing to strengthen their supremacy in the mid-capacity engine segment. We say so because the companies are working on an all new, very exciting platform that has the potential to create a big stir in the market. The platform will be powered by a twin-cylinder 500 cc engine that Bajaj is developing with the help of KTM engineers at their R&D facility in Pune.

Recently, the CEO of KTM Group AG – Stefan Pierer gave an interview to an international automotive portal and spoke at length about the company’s plans for the future and the products that they have in the pipeline, based on the upcoming 500cc engine. Apart from the obvious 490 Duke and 490 Adventure that will be sold under KTM’s moniker, Pierer has also confirmed an ADV under the Husqvarna brand (which is likely to be called as Explorer 501).

The Husqvarna Explorer 501 will be an extremely interesting product as it is expected to undercut the equivalent 490 Adventure and be as capable, probably! Not only this, KTM is working on a complete range of ADV models in the Husqvarna range.

Talking about launch timelines, Pierer has hinted that the first product from this 500 platform will be out in 2022 and we believe it will be the 490 Duke. And this Explorer 501 is expected to follow soon thereafter.
