Honda vs Bajaj Motorcycle Sales – The tables are about to turn!
So far Honda was regarded as a threat in the scooter segment in India. They are the largest selling scooter manufacturer in India and by a massive margin and second in terms of overall sales. But in motorcycle-sales, till last year, they were not as successful.

SIAM data (via ET Auto) released recently reveals that Honda’s motorcycle sales grew by 19.50 percent whereas Bajaj reported a fall of about 2 percent. Honda has been concentrating completely on the commuter segment and their biggest focus motorcycle is a 150 cc (Hornet). They have gained majorly in the volume-churning 110-150 cc segments where Bajaj has shown a decline.

However, Honda is paying absolutely no heed to segments bigger than this and hence you see the revamping of the same seven year old CBR 250R in our market. In 200 cc and bigger segments Bajaj retains market leadership with total sales of over 1.35 Lakh units for this period.
