Honda SP125 latest price hike is nominal but it becomes worrisome when we factor in the eventual increase in the BS4 to BS6 transition…
In order to give it an independent identity, Honda introduced the 2020 Shine SP without the ‘Shine’ moniker. It is now simply called as ‘SP125’ and was introduced in November 2019 (link to launch story). It was Honda’s second BS6 model and the first motorcycle to get the updated emission compliance.
Now, after five odd months of venturing into the BS6 era (on 1st April), Honda has increased the prices of the 2020 SP125 on its website at least twice. We have highlighted them in the following table.
Honda SP125 Latest Price
Model | Original Launch Price | April 20 Price | Latest Price – Aug 20 |
Honda SP125 Drum | Rs 72,900 | Rs 73,452 | Rs 74,407 |
Honda SP125 Disc | Rs 77,100 | Rs 77,652 | Rs 78,607 |
Both the models have received the same hike of Rs 955 in this latest update. However, it becomes big when we factor in the transition from BS4 to BS6. As compared to the older model, SP125 has seen a hike of around Rs 9000 which is an increase of about 13-14 percent.
