2020 Honda SP125 price is about 7300 more than the BS4 Shine SP125. Unlike others, power, torque & fuel efficiency have gone up…
At an event in Delhi today, Honda launched its second Bharat Stage VI compliant two-wheeler in India which is called as SP125. As you may have guessed it is the updated Shine SP without the ‘Shine’ moniker – may be Honda intends to portray it as an independent motorcycle now, after it has got some traction in the market.
Like India’s first Bharat Stage VI two-wheeler Activa 125 (check what’s new), the SP125 is also offered with a lot of features. Honda says it comes with 19 new patent applications which includes the ACG starter motor which ensures quick, silent and jolt free start.
Unlike many other motorcycles, SP125 gains some power in this transition. It now produces 10.88 PS of peak power at 7500 rpm and 10.9 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm from the same 124 cc motor. This is higher by 0.58 PS and 0.6 Nm from the Shine SP BS4 (however, the peak torque comes 500 rpm later). The motor is also now fuel injected and Honda claims a 16 percent gain in fuel economy of the motorcycle. 5-speed gearbox continues duties.
