Honda CB300R launch will give the Jap an apt (and a new) product in the fast growing 250-300cc segment, after a long time!
Towards the beginning of this financial year, Honda announced that they will launch ‘one’ all new product in India and just when we are closer to the end of this fiscal they recently revealed the product – CB300R!
Neo Sports Cafe inspired CB300R is a naked motorcycle which will be sold in India through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route, which in simple terms means that it will not be completely LOCALLY produced (it will be assembled here with parts/kits sourced from some other country), for reasons not revealed!
The motorcycle has already been spotted during an ad shoot (pics credit Rushlane) suggesting that large scale promotions of the motorcycle are about to commence.
Honda has also updated artial details of the 300cc CB at its website. However, we noticed an interesting bit here – unlike CBR 250R, CB 300R is listed under the ‘Super Bikes’ section along with biggies like Fireblade, Africa Twin, Goldwing etc.
CB300R is powered by a 286cc fuel injected, liquid cooled, single cylinder DOHC engine. Honda has not revealed its specs for India, however, the UK version produces 31 bhp of peak power at 8500 rpm and 27.5 Nm of max torque at 7500 rpm.
Honda CB300R Price
CB300R | Under 2.5 Lakh |
Honda has confirmed that the motorcycle will be priced under 2.5 Lakh ex-showroom for the Indian market which means it may carry a significant premium over the faired CB250R ABS, but it may undercut Duke 390!
Other prominent features the CB will be equipped with are – Twin channel ABS with IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), 296mm front disc with Nissin 4 piston caliper, 41 mm light weight inverted front forks, full LED lighting etc.
