We recently reported that a new start-up named Detel had launched an electric two-wheeler called ‘Detel Easy’ at a shocking price tag of Rs 19,999 + GST (read more about it here). Now, the company has shot in a press release to our mailboxes informing that the first stock has been sold out! All this within just 48 hours of opening of sale!
It is indeed a big feat, as the company is not an established player. It goes on to prove that due to the ongoing pandemic related health threat, people are avoiding public transport, and more and more people are considering owning affordable vehicles.
While Detel has not mentioned the number of units that were on sale in the first batch, the company goes on to say that it has earned a Gross Merchandise Value of over Rs. 23 crores. And for people who were not able to purchase the vehicle during its first sale, they can place orders for the EV on the company’s website, with deliveries beginning in October 2020.
