CONFIRMED: Bajaj Dominar 250 Launch Within Few Days

Dominar 250 launch date is closer to March 20 as Bajaj has shot in a ‘Block your date’ invite for its media ride in Pune…

The Dominar has probably been spotted testing on the road only once recently. Everyone passed by considering it to be the Dominar 400 BS6, including us and even the original source of the spy pics. However, some ‘cost-cut‘ changes were brought to our notice by a few of our readers.

It is then we sat with those pics, analysed and came to the conclusion that Bajaj is making a quarter liter version of Dominar – yes not 200, it was to be the 250cc version – we were so precise. After BikeAdvice’s post, many others came up with similar stories. Here are our stories..

Dominar 250 Launch Date

And today we have an official confirmation that the motorcycle is coming soon, very soon! Bajaj has just shot in an official ‘Block Your Date‘ invite for the first ride event of the Dominar 250 (yes, they have mentioned the name of the motorcycle) which will happen in Pune on March 20.

This simply means that Bajaj will either launch it before or after this event. It will be propelled by Bajaj’s version of the 250cc Duke’s motor, like it is the case with 200cc Pulsars as well as the Dominar 400. Expect the smaller sports cruiser to churn close to 27-28 PS of peak power and close to 22-24 Nm of torque.

Apart from the engine, the differences will lie in the swingarm, chain cover, tyres, disc brakes, etc. Since the test mules were shod with upside down forks of the Dominar 400 which it received in 2019, we believe Bajaj has decided to carry them on the smaller version as well.

So, what do you make out of this strategy by the Pune based major? Do you think it will dilute Dominar’s brand name or will buyers take it as a more affordable option to venture into the fold and hence this will increase overall sales?
