Bajaj to launch faired Pulsar SS200 within three months

Bajaj surprised everyone, barring BikeAdvice readers, when they unveiled their Pulsar SS400 at the Auto Expo in Delhi. This is because we have already shared the sniff with you about the bigger Pulsar just before the Auto Expo (here).

Nonetheless, the bigger surprise was the absence of Pulsar SS200, the smaller sibling of SS400 which will be launched earlier and will be identical in design to the SS400. Ever since the first ever spyshots and confirmations came about, many of the biking enthusiasts put their purchases on hold anticipating a launch before the Auto Expo.

However, that did not happen and the bike still eludes everyone leaving buyers in a state of confusion.

However, according to our sources, Bajaj should be ready with the bike soon and an official launch is expected to take place within three months from now. Let us clarify that even this ‘three’ is a safer assumption, ideally it should come much earlier going by the updates we have; could be as early as this month or next month itself!

Currently under test, Pulsar SS200 will be the faired sibling of Pulsar 200NS, which has been recently renamed to NS200! Pulsar SS200 will be Bajaj’s first ever fully-faired Pulsar in the market and will come with a Fuel-Injected 199.5cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine.

This also marks the return of Bajaj to Fuel Injection after they discontinued the Pulsar 220 DTSFI. With the added FI, there are possibilities of the new Pulsar getting a minor power bump of somewhere close to 25PS. There is also the possibility of an optional ABS on offer.

Barely a few days back, a spyshot claiming to be of Pulsar SS200’s face made way on to the interweb with a number plate. There were minor changes observed with respect to the design. We have talked about them here.

Pulsar SS200 Price:

What is easier to understand is that the Pulsar SS200 will be placed between the NS200 as well as the Duke 200. And according to our expectations, Bajaj may place it exactly in between at Rs 1.25 lakhs or thereabouts on the road.

So, does this answer your questions..all you prospec buyers?
