Even if you were present at the Auto Expo, we bet you must have missed this because of all the hullabaloo of the new rage Pulsar 400 twins – SS400 and CS400!
Among other regular motorcycles, also present was the new Pulsar 200NS dual tone in white and black. Officially called as ‘Metallic White & Ebony Black”, this is the first time Bajaj is offering a Pulsar in white colour in India. And now comes the interesting bit.
Upon close observation, we notice that Bajaj has renamed the new Pulsar 200NS to Pulsar NS200. This also goes with the newly unleashed Pulsar SS400 and Pulsar CS400. The new naming convention puts the category of the bike before its (promotional) capacity.
Bajaj’s site has not been updated with this new change but the bikes do carry the new name on them. However, the Discover series present at the Auto Expo carried the older naming convention of the category following the displacement.
This is the first time we have seen the dual-tone Pulsar in person and we liked what we saw. The bikes are not overdone and look a lot fresher. Apart from the white/black combo, new Pulsar NS200 is available in Passion Red/ Ebony Black, Saffire Blue/Ebony Black and solid black colour options. And by the way here are full forms of abbreviations Bajaj is using:
- NS: Naked Sports
- SS: Super Sports
- CS: Cruiser Sports
This makes us wonder: Does this new branding has anything to do with the upcoming KTM’s RC390 and RC200?
