Benelli To Launch This 250cc on 5 Oct [Speculation]

Benelli Leoncino 250 launch will give us an entry level scrambler at never seen prices. And it is a significantly different motorcycle from Leoncino 500…

Benelli is on a new product launch spree! After settling down with its older motorcycles, it has already introduced the very impressive TRK 502 and Leoncino 500 in India. It has been confirmed that its next launch is the Imperiale 400 which will rival the Royal Enfields and Jawas in India. You can check out its exact launch date and details here.

But they are not stopping at that! After the TNT25 was discontinued, the 250cc segment has been left vacant in the Indian portfolio. That may change if a new online report is to be believed. Autocar claims that Benelli may surprise everyone with the launch of the Leoncino 250 in India on 5th October 2019, which is just a few days away!

The quarter liter Leoncino follows the same scrambler design theme of the elder sibling which we have tested recently (review coming up). However, the 250 is a comprehensively different motorcycle. It comes with a different steel trellis frame and suspension.

That 250cc engine is based on the TNT 25’s single cylinder motor and produces 24.5 PS of peak power at 9500 rpm and 21 Nm of max torque at 7500 rpm. It is equipped with fuel injection and a 6 speed gearbox.

Mystery: Benelli Patents Different TNT 600

Once and if launched, it will be the most affordable scrambler in India undercutting its own sibling Leoncino 500. Since it is a single cylinder motorcycle, we expect it to be priced at around 1.7 to 2.0 Lakh ex-showroom. With this we wait to hear some official details from the company…
