A sudden closure of Hero’s partner EBR in USA caused a big flutter all over the motoring world. For India, the expected result was a delay in the launch of already announced motorcycles and possible slashing on some projects as well.
Following this, Hero issued a statement which stated that EBR’s filing for bankruptcy will NOT have any impact on their (Hero’s) launch plans as most of the projects have been completed or nearing completion!
And there you go….! A report at Autocar Pro just quashes Hero’s brave statement from the scratch. According to them, launch of the much-awaited Hero HX250R, the first motorcycle to be fully built in collaboration with EBR which was expected to be launched by quarter 2 or 3 of this year, will be delayed!
The reason cited by the Autocar is that Hero will finish up the pending project with its own R&D and is also reportedly looking out for some external help, and this will take some time.

The delay, they say, will be for a quarter or more, which means we are looking at a launch timeframe which crosses 2015! So, all of you who are planning a 250cc and if HX was in your list, you better move on…
So, Hero what happens to futuristic Hastur, RNT and ZIR? Will they make it by the stipulated timelines or will they be slashed?
