2021 Yamaha MT07 pics gallery at the end; the refreshed mid-sizer now looks a lot more aggressive and gets many other updates…
Yamaha has updated the MT-07, to effectively take on its rivals including the Triumph Trident, which was revealed recently.
Just days after unveiling the MT-09, Yamaha has now given a fresh update to the MT-07 for 2021. It also coincides with the unveiling of the Triumph Trident, which is a recent event.
The new MT-07 gets updated styling that provides it a bold and fresh look, with its three-part LED headlight. It continues with the same diamond frame that its predecessor had. However, it gets a reshaped fuel tank that makes it look sportier. Yamaha also claims that it has improved the finish of the bike for a more premium look.
While these are cosmetic bits, the powertrain is also updated on the motorcycle. It now gets a Euro-5 compliant (similar to BS6 emission norms) engine. The 680cc engine churns out a peak power of 73.4 PS and torque of 67 Nm. The transition to the newer emission norm compliance has led to a slight reduction of power figures. While the power is down by 1.4 PS, the torque is lower by 1 Nm.
It also has a redesigned exhaust system with revised air intake duct design and improved fuel-injection settings. To handle the braking duties, the motorcycle now gets larger 298 mm disc at the front, instead of the 282 mm unit on its predecessor.
Yamaha Official Jackets, Helmets & Other Merchandise Launched on AMAZON
While the company has not revealed the pricing of the streetfighter, we expect it to see a spike, owing to additional features. Because the previous generation MT-07 never made it to India, we believe the chances of the updated version coming to our shores are also not very high.
