2-wheeler sales June 2020 – Hero MotoCorp is back at the top position with multifold increment in sales but YoY there has been a drop.
It was for the first time that Bajaj Auto dethroned Hero Motocorp from its leadership position in May 2020 (read the numbers here). However, we all knew that it was temporary due to the disruptions and uncertainties of COVID-19 related lockdowns, and Hero would eventually regain its leadership.
And it turns out that it did not take Hero long to snatch back its number one position.
In the month of June, Hero has managed to sell a total of 450,744 units, which is over four times the sales it garnered during the previous month (112, 682 units in May 2020). However, if we compare the Y-O-Y sales, we can see a 26% dip in dispatches due to the effects of COVID-19. Hero had sold 6.16 lakh units in June 2019.
In the press release shared by the company, Hero said that it now has over 95% of its touchpoints operational, with all the safety measures and protocols in place. In June 2020, the company had also introduced ‘eSHOP,’ an online sales platform wherein you can purchase your preferred Hero motorcycles and scooters directly from the company’s website.
