by Saad on October 10, 2013

Just yesterday, we shared with you details about the 15th October event which, Bajaj informed us, will see the launch of an All-New Discover platform. And here are the spilled over details of what the event is all about.

According to Autocar India, Bajaj will launch a new Discover which will be called as Discover 100M in the market. If you have been following us, this should not be a surprise for you. We shared with you spyshots of what looked like a more utilitarian New Discover on August 22 (Check them here). This new revelation is just a builder on the same story.

The test mule we had spotted carried a different set of rear foot pegs as well as slightly different side cowls. And when you look at the leaked studio shots of the new Discover; well….we were bang on!

The Discover 100M looks exactly the same as Discover 100T and carries over the same 102cc 4 stroke engine with 4-Valves under a lower state of tune. It will produce 9.3bhp of power output as against the 10.2PS of the Discover 100T. Discover 100M will come with stock drum brakes, however, it will also have an option of petal discs upfront.

The best part is the positioning of this 100M. Discover 100T retails for Rs 49,000 and the entry level Discover 100 4G retails for Rs 43,820 ex-showroom Delhi. It is right in between these two Discovers, Bajaj will place the Discover 100M. So, we can safely assume an entry price of somewhere around Rs 45,000-46,000!

And if you thought, you have had enough of jumbled alphabets, let us tell you there are many more new Discovers coming to the market…One of them (with monoshock) is what we spied a few days back…

We would creatively be more interested in discover new model to come in 150cc variant with 4valve and digital console and also monoshock as well….this would really have an impact on the market…

Dear Bajaj, you took 3 months time since your previous launch to launch this? A guy working in a auto garage would have changed the foot pegs in a matter for few mins. Bravado!!

What is Bajaj doing, same old wine in a new bottle, more variants does not mean better, it’s just plain stupidity to have so many models which confuses buyers.

yeah it just confused the buyers, we had also like this here in the philippines. the problem is still we dont have the 200 ns while indonesia got it….for so many models that bajaj launches there in india so far the 200 ns is out of the limelight here. we been waiting for ns but to no avail my friends shift to RTR 180 it just launched here, its because kawasaki here launches the z250 maybe if the ns will arrive the z250 will be left behind….company agreement? you tell me.
