‘Block Your Date’ – Yamaha Announces New Launch on 19 Dec

Yamaha’s 19 Dec launch could either be the new Fascino or the next-gen YZF R3 or something we are unaware of…

Moments back Yamaha India has shot in a ‘Block your date’ invite to us for 19 December. The event scheduled in Chennai will be a Press Conference for a ‘new launch‘ according to the mailer. But that is all what it reveals.

Yamaha’s 19 Dec Launch – What could it be?

We have no concrete clue about the product but let us try and list the possibilities…

  • 2020 Yamaha Fascino
  • Next-Gen YZF R3
  • Announcement and launch of one or more BS6 products
  • A surprise we aren’t aware of yet!

2020 Yamaha Fascino was spotted testing very recently and it gets big changes. Apart from the mandatory BS6 compliant engine, it will be equipped with heavy cosmetic updates, including a new body shell. You can check out the spy pics and list of other changes here.

Yamaha stopped sales of its YZF-R3 for a few months in between which signified that it may introduce the international newer generation model in India. However, it has resumed sales of the existing model according to the sales data we have.

Yamaha’s 19 Dec launch could be the new Fascino

The event may have been scheduled to announce launch of Yamaha’s BS6 variants of the existing models.

Out of all these possibilities, entry of Fascino looks the most probable as the company often launches its products in around 2-3 months after they are first caught on the roads testing. Chances of the new R3 look lesser since we believe it (the R3) will be introduced at some racing track whenever it will arrive.

A new product looks unlikely because like other manufacturers, Yamaha will also want to complete its transition to BS6 before shifting focus.
