250cc Yamaha R25 Production Model Teased: Unveiling on 25th! [With Teaser Video]

So the moment millions of bikers in India are waiting for, it seems, is coming nearer. In an official stunt, Yamaha has launched a teaser website which says something is coming up in a little over 7 days from today which adds up to the 25th of March as the date.

The company has also put up a quick 15 seconds video which showcases some sci-fi stuff but more importantly a couple of products which we believe will form the basis of the day. One of them appears to be a stylish scooter and the other one appears to be the production version of the much awaited Yamaha R25.

As you can see in the screengrab we have put under, the tank design, seats contours, upswept rear cowls, alloy wheels design and a lot of other stuff appears very similar to the R25 Concept Yamaha showcased at the Auto Expo. The production version as expected wears a twin-headlamp set-up upfront with an airdam in between.

Yamaha officially unveiled the R25 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in November last year along with premièring it in India at the Auto Expo in Noida. R25, inspired by the MotoGP M1, sports a 249cc, parallel twin cylinder liquid cooled engine which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

On a side note, it has been busted that Yamaha has also reserved the ‘YZF R3‘ moniker in Europe and United States which forms the basis of a ‘close to 300cc’ motorcycle coming to production. Deducing from this, there is a possibility that Yamaha may introduce both a 250cc and a 300cc motorcycle possibly based on the same platform.

And like you, we all are also waiting to know the power and other tech specs of R25/R3 and it doesn’t seem to be too long before we will get to see the motorcycle in flesh, which we all can purchase from our neighbourhood Yamaha stores. And by the way, it is already (almost) confirmed for Indian launch by next year.

So, how many of you are putting your Ninja/Duke plans on hold?
