Yamaha WR155 is based on the same R15’s platform and it uses the extremely popular 155cc engine from the range.
Yamaha is using its extremely popular 155cc platform extensively and it has made various motorcycles on it catering to different tastes – they include R15, MT15, XSR155, and WR155. While the latter two models are not available in India, the company sells these bikes in other markets across the world.
In a latest, Yamaha has launched the off-roader WR155 in Thailand. The mini dual sports motorcycle looks attractive and comes with a 4-stroke SOHC 4-valve VVA (variable valve actuation) engine that produces a peak power of 16.72 PS and 14.3 Nm of torque. As mentioned above, the bike shares its motor with the R15 but it has been tuned for a different application (R15 produces whopping 18.6 PS and 14.1 Nm).

Talking about its price, the WR155 has been introduced at 105,000 THB (Thailand Baht) which translates to roughly 248,000 INR. Like in Indonesia, it is priced higher than R15 (98,900 THB or 233,000 INR). It clears that WR155 will be one of the most premium offering of this platform.
