Speculation: Fuel Injected FZ-S Version 2 Launch in June

This is getting real interesting! All of a sudden there is a lot of hulchul in the premium 150-160cc segment after it was dominated solely by the Yamaha’s FZ brothers.

We have already shared with you all the 4 upcoming bikes in this segment which will slug it out with each other and it includes manufacturers like Hero, Honda and Suzuki. You can check out the list here.

However, to combat the onslaught, Yamaha is preparing their FZ version 2 which is already known through the display bike the company had kept on display at the Auto Expo (pictured here) and various test mules that have been spied. But what is interesting is this new speculative bit by the folks at BikeIndia.in who claim that Yamaha is all set to launch their new FZ V2 as soon as in June!

If this goes true, Yamaha just doesn’t want to let any space for the competition to breathe in by offering their best and refreshed FZ. Gixxer, the prime-most competition to FZ is also expected to be launched sometime in June-July.

However, we are of a slightly different opinion. We believe launch may not be as soon as claimed. This is because of two reasons. First, they have introduced the refreshed colors barely a couple of months back. Two, a wait and watch policy will yield better results we believe.

So, let the Gixxer get launched. Its official specs are now known and after its launch, its prices and other bits will also be known. On majority of the parameters FZ appears to be better than Gixxer and it can then launch its product then, stealing the thunder yet again. It is possible that Hero may have also launched their 15.2ps more powerful Xtreme Sports in the market by then.

Nonetheless, let us wait and see if Yamaha, indeed, has some plans to launch the FZ version 2 within a few days from now. What gets almost certain is that it will come with a Fuel Injector in place of the current carburetor and we can expect some slight little power bump as well along with the much needed better fuel efficiency.
