TVS RETRON – will it turn out to be a performance oriented global electric scooter or is it something else – probably a motorcycle…?
TVS is planning a host of new models for our market. This gets cleared by the various trademarks it has filed for patents in the last few months. We already know that it has some kind of plans for ‘Fiero’, ‘Zepplin‘ and ‘Raider’.
But that is not where the story ends! Careful eyes have unearthed that the Chennai based 2-wheeler major has filed for another brand name – TVS RETRON, with the IP Department of India. It is currently under the status of ‘Marked for Exam‘. If everything goes well, TVS will be allotted this trademark. The description is the same as it is for motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and their parts, etc before they get launched.
Obviously, there is nothing which could give us any kind of sneak on what this is. Pure speculation takes us closer to the ‘Creon’ – the very sporty electric scooter concept that was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.

Powered by a 12 KW battery, Creon was described by TVS as a performance oriented EV which would, most probably, be a global product. It was claimed to do a 0 to 60 kmph in under 5.1 seconds along with a range of 80 km then. It also had rapid charging which filled 80 percent of the battery in just 60 minutes.

It must be known that the ‘Creon’ name is also already registered by TVS. Just going by the name, another possibility is of an entry level motorcycle.
With this we will wait for some concrete sneaks behind these names before understanding TVS’ plans.
