TVS Apache RTR 200 has been playing hide and seek for a long time now. The company seems to have finally commenced deliveries of the bike, however, only in select cities via limited dealerships. As per a dealership in Mumbai, the bike is available for a price tag of Rs 88,542 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This comes to Rs 1,05,600 (on-road).
The Apache 200 is expected to be brought in via a host of trim levels thanks to the variety of features promised. In fact, as per the conversation we had with TVS officials at the launch, it will be available in about 6 variants. The base variant on sale right now gets the new soft-compound Remora tyres made by TVS Srichakra (which surprisingly hold well), is carburetted and misses out on ABS.
We spoke to dealers in Pune where the base trim is available for a sticker price of Rs 1,02,920 (on-road, Pune). Nobody has ridden the ABS variant yet and it was not available during our media rides as well. We tested the Fuel Injected Apache 200 but even that has not been put on sale yet. Expect more details to trickle in about next 3 months.
We have also managed to get hold of the brochure of the bike. The carburetted version of the bike churns out 20.5 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of torque. The fuel injected version though produces 0.95 PS of extra power at the same engine rev. The Pirelli sourced tyres are fantastic.

However, after a promise of April, the motorcycle is getting delayed a little too much and already-late TVS should bring the remaining variants to get traction in this segment.
