The Apache RR 200 will be used for the new Rookie Category that TVS has introduced for racers between 13 to 19 years of age!
For the first time, TVS Racing is introducing a rookie category for the TVS One-Make Championship. Young racers aging between 13 and 19 years can take part in the championship. This move will help encourage young talents to enter motorsport.
The championship event will take place on 14th August 2021. The venue is Madras Motor Race Track at Irungattukottai, Chennai. Selected riders from this event will get a chance to ride at the 2021 Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship.
The Bike – Apache RR 200
The teenage riders appearing for the Rookie category will use the new TVS Apache RR 200. It is specifically designed by the company for track riding purposes. The race-ready bike packs a 4-stroke air-cooled 197.8cc engine. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Power and torque figures have not been revealed by the company.
TVS has deployed low drag race fairings and adjustable suspensions on the 200 and it runs on special component tyres from Eurogrip.

Selection Criteria for TVS One-Make Championship Rookie Category
Here is the criteria the participants must fulfill to take part in the Rookie Category racing.
- All participants must be under 19 years of age
- The participants must have received Level-1 FMSCI training from any racing training school.
- In case the interested participant doesn’t have a Level-1 certificate yet, TVS Racing will conduct a Level-1 training on the 24th of July, 2021 at Madras Motor Track. To register for the same young racers can click here.

Commenting on this development, Mr. B. Selvaraj, Team manager for TVS Racing said, it is important to train well and learn the nuances of road racing in the early phases of the Motorsport racing career.
