So, all the speculations and rumours can be put to rest and Suzuki has officially revealed the specs of their upcoming premium 150cc motorcycle Gixxer!

And unlike the last time we talked about it, this is a new engine which we have not seen here before and yes it is different from sibling GS150R.

Suzuki Gixxer churns out 14.8PS of maximum power at 8000 rpm and a very impressive 14Nm of torque at 6000 rpm from a new 154.9cc SOHC 4-stroke single cylinder air-cooled 2 valve engine. Fueling duties are performed by a conventional carburetor and Suzuki is offering both electric as well as kick starter systems (I guess) as standard.

Transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed gearbox and the bike will come with single disc brake upfront and regular drums at the rear. This also almost infers that there will not be any rear disc variant on offer.

In terms of dimensions, Gixxer is 2050mm long, 785mm wide, 1030mm high and has a wheelbase of 1330mm. Along with a ground clearance of 160mm, the seat is 780mm high. At a weight of 135 kgs, Gixxer is fairly lighter in weight and has a 12 liters fuel tank capacity.

It comes with 100/80 front as well as a 140/60mm 17 inch tubeless tyres along with a 12 volt battery.

Gixxer Color Options

Gixxer will be offered in 5 color options. They are…

  1. Pearl Mirage White
  2. Metallic Triton Blue
  3. Glass Sparkle Black
  4. Candy Antares Red
  5. Metallic Oort Gray

Out of this, we have seen blue and red. It would be really interesting to see how would a white Gixxer look in person. As we said earlier, bookings have officially opened and if you want to get your bike sooner, head to Suzuki’s official website or a local dealership.

Launch of Gixxer is scheduled for 10th of this month which is when we will come to know about its prices, which should be competitive, if Suzuki has learnt any lessons from Inazuma’s atrocious pricing!
