It has been a brilliant year for Suzuki so far. It is the only major two-wheeler manufacturer which has consistently shown growth for majority of the months in this financial year. What makes its achievements even bigger is the fact that the industry as a whole has seen serious downfall in demand. Production and sales are down by unprecedented levels.

Suzuki December 2019 Sales

Suzuki ended the calendar year on a positive note. In the month of December, it registered domestic sales of 44,368 units which were 1.1 percent higher than 43,874 units it managed in December 2018.

At 52,351 units, sales remained flat if we include exports (Dec 2018 sales 52,362 units). Cumulatively, ie from April, Suzuki has registered total sales of 6,16,392 units till now.

Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India, said that this has been an important year for Suzuki as it also ventured in the quarter liter segment with the Gixxer twins. He also announced that Suzuki is ready with its Bharat Stage VI product-line and will convert ‘way ahead of the deadline‘ of 1st April 2020.

For its future plans – Suzuki said that it will bring in products for ‘all stages of life‘. The company has recently announced Bharat Stage VI compliant Access 125 which will go on sale shortly. It is also reportedly working on a new quarter liter motorcycle apart from the Burgman Street 150.
