UM Motorcycles, which started operations in India on a bumpy note with complaints of quality and terrible delays in deliveries, are now settling down with their motorcycles. They expanded their range with two new motorcycles – Renegade Classic (which was first shown at the 2016 Auto Expo) and Renegade Commando Mojave (special edition of the Commando).
The Classic, which was initially announced as a range-topping model at Rs 1.69 Lakhs, has been finally introduced at Rs 1.89 Lakhs (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). With the Mojave UM has done a Royal Enfield Desert Storm. The matte finished motorcycle was introduced at Rs 1.80 Lakhs (ex Delhi) which is Rs 6000 more than the basic Commando.
Renegade Classic & Mojave Deliveries
Within a month of their introduction and for the first time, UM has commenced deliveries of both the motorcycles as posted by their dealerships.
Both the motorcycles share the basic underpinnings including the engine in ‘as is’ form and churn out 25.15 PS of peak power and 23 Nm of max torque from the 279.5 cc fuel injected engine. They are still devoid of ABS at this point of time.
There is also a speculative bit that the company is working on a bigger twin cylinder engine which will power its new adventure motorcycle and it is expected within six months (more details).
