Recently, the Indian government increased subsidy on the FAME II scheme which is an initiative for developing electric mobility in India. With this increase in subsidy, the EV makers are now passing the savings to the customers by reducing the prices of their products.
Speaking of which popular electric vehicle maker Okinawa has slashed the cost of its entire electric scooter range.
Here is the new price listing and comparison with older price of all the three models of Okinawa electric scooters – iPraise +, iPraise Pro and Ridge+.

While the top of the line iPraise+ gets a price-cut of close to INR 18,000, iPraise Pro and Ridge+ have become dearer by INR 7,947 and 7209 respectively. More importantly, all the models now cost under 1 Lakh.

Now, with such a significant price-cut, customers will find these e-scooters more affordable. Recently, the government of India has also decided to waive of the registration fees on electric vehicles for encouraging widespread adaption of e-mobility.
Even TVS iQube also underwent a remarkable price reduction after the FAME II subsidy raise. Notable e-scooter maker Ather also axed the prices of its 450X scooter model by INR 14,500.
Last month the retail sales of EVs were affected badly due to lockdown across the nation. Hopefully, as the lockdown will gradually relax in various regions, the price-cut in the electric vehicle segment will prompt more people to switch to EVs.
Okinawa scooters are quite popular due to their detachable lithium-ion battery. This allows the customer to retrieve the battery and charge it anywhere as per their convenience. Within 1-hour the battery can juice itself up to 80%.
