Kawasaki is on a rampage it seems. They have some real aggressive plans and intends to build upon their Indian business, even if that means going solo!
Very recently they launched the big faired brothers ZX14R and ZX10R in India along with setting up an independent and dedicated dealership in Pune. And their onslaught continues. Next in line is the turn of the naked brothers.
In an official invite we have just received, Kawasaki has confirmed ‘launch of the new product’ in India on 23rd December in Pune. They have not named any product but it just appears to be either or both of the Z1000 or Z800 naked monsters.
Why we say either one or both because the wordings in the invite are (guess intentionally) confusing, It mentions ‘the’ instead of ‘a’ but ‘product’ it says.
We also checked the invite mailer of ZX10R/ZX14R and it also mentioned the same phrase and there were two launches finally. Nonetheless, we are just suckers of what a product Kawasaki has produced in the form of the new Z1000. It looks menacingly undeterred and really out of the world!
Kawasaki has already started bookings of the Z1000 and it comes with a 1043cc inline 4 engine producing 142bhp of maximum power output along with 111Nm of peak torque.
Kawasaki has also kept Z800 on display at their Wakdewadi showroom and it produces 118hp of peak power from its 806cc inline 4 cylinder engine.
Our writer Sufi has beautifully described the liter class Z1000 and you can read his report here. And if you are eyeing that 800cc naked, here are more details and pics.
We will be reporting from the launch venue on 23rd December and the proceedings start at 12pm. Stay tuned!
