After teasing it aggressively, Honda has officially revealed its mysterious scooter – and it is the bigger Dio 125. It comes bang in the Grazia territory and without much differentiation, I believe it (Grazia) will go out of the portfolio (it is already showing no production in the last few months).
Basically the strategy appears to be simple – a new brand (Grazia) not working – bring on an existing, hit nameplate (Dio) in the 125cc segment and compete. Honda follows a similar strategy with its Activa as well. Though Honda never reveals the share of both the models (Activa 110 and Activa 125), it appears that the bigger brother is trundling along – playing a second fiddle to the insane seller!
The Dio 125 comes with sporty intents and surprisingly, the company says that there is a dual outlet muffler that produces sporty exhaust note (a hint of which we heard in the teasers). This is a clear learning that has come from the competition – read TVS Ntorq!

Another stand-out feature is the full digital instrument cluster that displays three real-time info – Range (distance to empty), average fuel efficiency and real-time fuel efficiency. This is apart from the regular info that we can get from the console. More features include side stand with engine inhibitor, idling stop system, combi-brake system, and petal disc upfront.
At the front, the Honda Dio 125 gets a 12 inch tyre and the overall ground clearance is a healthy 171 mm. Aside this, you also get an 18 liter storage space underneath the seat apart from a front pocket that can hold your mobile etc. Though details of the engine are not shared, it will definitely be the same unit as of the Grazia, with similar power outputs.

The Dio 125 comes in seven color shades with a special 10 year warranty package – out of which three years is standard and 7 years is optional. With a renowned brand, good set of features and that sporty exhaust note, does Honda have a better product against the Ntorq?
