So, Mahindra is gaining some traction in the market after a couple of damp squibs. In an official confirmation we have received, the Pune-based manufacturer has conveyed that they have received 10,000 bookings of their latest launch Centuro within a matter of 18 days.
Centuro is Mahindra’s most important product which is expected to get them to the path and it looks like they are on their way. Mahindra launched Centuro on the 1st of July at a grand event in Jaipur and also announced that the first 10,000 bookings will be made at an ex-showroom price of Rs 44,000 after which, the original price of Rs 45,000 will be applicable.
Centuro sports a better version of the 110cc motor from Pantero which produces 8.5bhp of power output and 8.5Nm of torque. It comes with a host of useful and interesting features like Anti-theft alarm, Remote Flip key, Find Me Lamps, Digital dashboard etc. Add to this, Mahindra warrants it for a period of 5-years.
In terms of its performance, Centuro’s mill is a much better version of the earlier iterations and comes with a host of betterments which make it more responsive and less vibrating. Mahindra has also worked on the fuel efficiency of Centuro which has resulted in an ARAI approved mileage figures of a whooping 85.4kmpl!
Ecstatic at the response Centuro has received, Executive Vice President of Mahindra Two Wheelers, Mr Viren Popli said,
We are truly delighted that the Mahindra Centuro has garnered over 10,000 bookings in such a short period of time. At the same time, we are very aware of the enhanced customer expectations and are striving to meet and exceed them.
This also means that from now onwards, Centuro can be booked at the original (and introductory) price of Rs 45,000. Centuro competes with the likes of Passion Pro, Discover series, Honda Dream Yuga etc in the 110cc premium segment.
