List of Upcoming KTM and Husqvarna Bikes on November 8 [EICMA]!

EICMA is just round the corner. The biggest motorcycle show in the planet will bring a wide variety of products, however, not all of them will trickle down to India. Sadly that’s the problem with the Indian market. Due to high taxation, a lot of products will remain out of our reach. KTM, however, is one brand who’s new product line-up is very interesting for our market.

Not only will a majority of these bikes be manufactured in India, but a lot of them will be sold here as well. Along with their sister arm Husqvarna, they have the potential to change the face of performance motorcycling in India. Here’s a small list of motorcycles by the brand expected to be unveiled at EICMA:

  • KTM Duke 390:

Let’s talk about the most awaited product first. The Duke 390 is set to return in a new avatar! The lightweight and powerful street motorcycle will gain considerable updates as rumours are to be believed. Riding modes, second counter balancer shaft and LED headlamps. Sounds like fun right? Visually too the bike will sport a new look with inspiration drawn from the new 690 Duke.

  • KTM Duke 200:

Spotted recently in India, the smaller cousin of the 2017 KTM Duke 390, the Duke 200 is also expected to get a similar body structure. New LCD instrumentation and frame. Headlamps though might not have LEDs to keep cost under check.

  • KTM Duke 800:

The Duke 800 is to be powered by a new parallel twin mill. The bike is aimed to get the bike a bigger market share in the middleweight territory. Our sources had earlier exclusively revealed its output figures to be around 110 hp (You can read more about it by clicking on this link). With a 270-degree crank angle the bike boasts of a feel of a V-twin. More on that when the bike launches! There is also a good chance that with time KTM will move on to manufacture bigger engines in India. And when that happens, this will be one of the first products to be worked on.

  • Husqvarna Vitpilen 401:

The KTM owned Husqvarna brand also recently announced that they will be launched two new street models. They did talk about it earlier in April 2016. The first of these will be the Vitpilen 401. Showcased earlier as a concept, the bike is based on the Duke 390. Now it may gain the technicalities from the 2017 edition of the duke but more on that can be said only after the models are announced. India launch? Yes, very much on cards!

  • Husqvarna Vitpilen 701:

The second model which the manufacturer has talked about is the Vitpilen 701. This one is based on the Duke 690. However, we believe, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 might not make its way to India.

Honourable mention: The Duke 125! Now this tiny, performance oriented entry level bike is manufactured at Bajaj’s and is exported to international market. We expect even the Duke 125 to be seen in a new avatar at EICMA.
