India-spec Yamaha MT15 power output and some other specs have been revealed for the first time…
Yamaha was caught testing MT15 in India a couple of times and it got confirmed when they chose to showcase the motorcycle to their dealers at the same venue where the media was called for the launch of the FZ v3. We got to know about it through the leaked clip from the event.
From the spy pics that have emerged so far it has become evident that there will be some cost cutting to the India-spec model and there was always a fear of some detuning to the engine as well. In a latest update, Indianautosblog has leaked a document from the Transport Ministry which reveals many specs of the motorcycle, including its power output.
Yamaha MT15 Power & Specs
The MT15 will produce 14.2 kw (19.3 PS) of peak power at 10000 rpm from its 155.1cc engine. This is exactly equal to what the R15 v3 churns out from the same engine – which means we are getting the same tune.
Other specs that have been revealed are..
- Gross vehicle weight – 288 kg
- Wheelbase – 1335 mm
- Length x Width x Height – 2020 x 800 x 1070 mm
Further the document confirms that it will be the ABS model that will be introduced, which is obvious as the mandate kicks in from 1st April 2019.
