New 500cc Range 100% Developed in India, Reveals KTM Chief

KTM’s upcoming 500 range will be made in India in partnership with Bajaj. It will spawn multiple motorcycles from Dukes to Adventures!

If you are an existing KTM 390 or a 250 customer, you must be grinning ear to ear now with this unraveling of the news of the KTM’s new 500 platform. Like it is the case currently, this 500 platform will spawn multiple products that will at least be sold under the KTM and Husqvarna brands. It is not known if Bajaj’s moniker will also gleam on some of them!

But just don’t play down Bajaj here. It is because of Bajaj we can expect attractive prices of these motorcycles. In an exciting update, KTM’s chief Stefan Pierer has confirmed that the new 500 range is being developed 100 percent at the Bajaj R&D center in Pune along with the support of KTM’s engineers.

In all probability, all, or most of the 500s will be made in India which will definitely ensure an aggressive price tag, like it has been the case with almost all the KTMs upto 375cc till now.

The upcoming 490 Duke, 490 Adventure and similar format motorcycles under Husqvarna brand will offer an opportunity for all the existing customers to upgrade to a multi-cylinder engine. It will also attract motorcyclists from other companies.
