After showcasing it at the India Bike Week in December 2019, KTM has finally launched the 390 Adventure in India through a press announcement.

The much awaited adventure tourer will directly rival BMW G310 GS and Royal Enfield Himalayan. Here is a quick lowdown on the motorcycle’s features and engine..

390 Adventure is powered by the same 373.2 cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve engine which is Bharat Stage VI compliant. It produces the same peak power output of 43 hp at 9000 rpm and 37 Nm of max torque at 7000 rpm. Power is spread through 6-gears.

It comes equipped with very impressive features like Motorcycle Traction Control with lean angle sensitivity, twin-channel cornering and offroad ABS by Bosch, Quickshifter+ for clutchless upshifts and downshifts and dual purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres.

390 Adventure carries 43 mm open-cartridge upside down WP Apex front forks which can travel 170 mm and gas-assisted WP Apex shock absorbers at the rear with 177 mm of travel and preload adjustment. Unlike the international models, the front suspension of the India-spec model are non-adjustable. Along with a ground clearance of 200 mm, the motorcycle has a larger 14.5 liter fuel tank capacity.

The ADV also offers Smartphone Bluetooth connectivity via KTM MY RIDE and you can attend calls, listen to music and enjoy turn by turn navigation on the fully-coloured TFT display.

KTM 790 Adventure India Launch Around Oct-Dec 2020

KTM has officially announced the asking price of its first adventure model for India and it is pretty much on the lines we were expecting it at. In comparison, BMW G310 GS costs Rs 3.50 Lakh but it may get costlier with its BS6 upgrade. On the other hand the Himalayan BS6 has been introduced at starting price of Rs 1.87 Lakh (link to launch article). Bookings of the 390 Adventure have commenced across all the KTM showrooms in India.
