Kawasaki ZX6R deliveries to commence from this month…
In what came as a surprise, Kawasaki announced the launch of the ZX-6R in India towards the middle of last month (link to launch story). ZX-6R marks the incoming of mid-sized supersport motorcycles in India through the official channels.
Which means that if the response is favourable more makers will take notice and we may see more of such kinds like the Yamaha R6, Honda CBR 650RR etc in the times to come.
Why we are specifying this is because, despite being a mid-sizer it costs more than the liter class Ninja 1000, and yet it is attractively priced for the tech that goes into it. Moreover, this introductory price tag of Rs 10.49 Lakh ex-showroom, which is only applicable for early bookers, will see a ‘significant’ upward revision, as has been cleared by Kawasaki.
Kawasaki promised that deliveries of ZX6R will commence from February and as we enter the month, the motorcycle has started reaching dealerships as these pics from Anzen Kawasaki, a brand authorised dealership in Mumbai, suggest.
The 196 kg light ZX6R is powered by a 636cc inline four cylinder DOHC engine which is capable of belting out 130 PS of peak power at 13,500 rpm and 70.8 Nm of maximum torque at 11,400 rpm. It comes with premium features like Kawasaki Intelligent ABS, traction control, quick shifter, LED headlamps and tail lamps and a multi-function LCD instrument cluster.

Another interesting mid-sizer that was spotted at some dealership in India is this KTM!
