Vitpilen & Svartpilen 401 Indian launch now touted to be after 18-24 months from now. We may get new-generation models in place of the current ones…
Husqvarna was believed to enter India with its 401 twins – Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401. But, instead, it surprised everyone with the global unveiling of two quarter liter motorcycles – Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 earlier this month in Goa. And these 250s are what the Swedish brand will enter India with.
Interestingly, with the recent official revelation of the Svartpilen 200, it almost gets confirmed that Husqvarna will have a similar lineup of products as KTM Dukes. The Svartpilen 200 is also expected to come to India later in 2020 (check pic & specs), after the brand settles with its 250s, which will be officially introduced in February (more details).
That leaves the original 401s – the motorcycles which kickstarted the ‘new’ Husqvarna under KTM’s ownership. According to a new update at Autocar, it is now rumoured that both the Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will be launched in mid-2021 which is a wait of almost 1.5-2 years from now.
Chetak-Based Husqvarna Scooter Revealed?
If this goes true, expect them to be available in their newer generation models then, since the 390 Duke, on which they are based, will get the new-gen platform by then. It is already under tests and you can check its spy pics here.
