Husqvarna Deliveries from Next Month: Bookings Open

Husqvarna deliveries will initially commence from 100 dealerships across 45 cities of India. You can book the motorcycles now at surprise prices…

KTM-Bajaj has just dropped a press note informing about the prices and other details of Husqvarna’s Indian foray. They are venturing with two motorcycles – Cafe Racer Vitpilen 250 and scrambler Svartpilen 250. Both of them are based on the 250 Duke and are equipped with the same quarter liter engine which is good for 30 PS of power and 24 Nm of torque. You can read more about them in the launch article.

Bajaj/KTM will commence deliveries of both the Pilens from early March. The Husqvarnas will be sold through the existing KTM dealerships which have been upgraded to house models from both the brands.

Initially, Bajaj is shipping these models to 100 showrooms across 45 cities in India. And in the next five months, the Swedish motorcycle brand will be available in almost 400 showrooms across 275 cities in India – that is a massive reach and bound to provide the brand a good headstart.

Husqvarna is Making a 250cc Adventure Bike [Speculation]

At this occasion, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto said,

The premium motorcycle segment has seen a strong growth in India over the last five years of almost 19% CAGR, with two broad classes of motorcycles – sporty high-performance motorcycles and lifestyle motorcycles with limited performance. The Husqvarna twins are superbly crafted and will be a game changer in the lifestyle performance segment. They offer a great package of superior dynamic performance and a unique Swedish design language. The Husqvarnas are meant for progressive riders who have an evolved taste, a strong  appreciation for style and don’t want a compromise between performance and elegant design. We look forward to see Husqvarna replicate the success of KTM motorcycles by targeting a different and a complementary consumer segment

Husqvarna 401 Twins Indian Launch in 2021 [Speculation]

Surprisingly, Husqvarna is presented as a more premium brand than KTM in international markets. But here in India, KTM/Bajaj have started it on a lower pedestal. Though, it is being tagged as an ‘introductory’ price tag, we believe the Husky may continue to be placed as a slightly lesser brand than KTM (Ignoring CKDs, KTM brand now spawns a 3 Lakh motorcycle!).
