Another Honda Motorcycle Spied Testing- New 125cc or More Powerful Shine?

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd has a very strong automatic scooter portfolio in India but their aim to emerge as the leading two-wheeler manufacturer cannot be fulfilled by scooters alone. They need a big presence in the volume motorcycle segment and they are just after that.

After launching two products in the 100 cc segment, here is another commuter that has been caught testing by Gaadiwaadi.com with claims of it being a new 125 cc model ‘under works’. While it can not be established with conviction that it is a 125 cc but it seems logical.

The Honda CB Shine is their current bestseller in the segment, however, their other offering Stunner, otherwise an interesting offering, has faded off.

Now the next question is – what is it? The headlamp of the motorcycle appears to be inspired from the now discontinued Twister but is bigger. The rear suspension springs are red in colour and the motorcycle seems to be sleeker than Shine at least from the rear. There is a full size exhaust, apart from puny tyres, covered chain and interesting alloy wheels.

If we have to speculate, this may be a new 125 cc motorcycle which may sell along with Shine but we can not discount the possibility of this being a slightly more powerful Shine in the making.

The present Shine sports a 124.7 cc air cooled engine producing 10.57 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 10.30 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. Will the scheduled Honda press meet on the 4th of August bring more clarity?
