At the launch ceremony of the Livo, Honda announced that they will be hosting a press conference on August 4, 2015. This time they are calling it the ‘RevFest’ and hints are that this event will be devoid of any commuter, tons of which have been introduced by Honda recently. While they confirmed that this event will see the launch of the awaited mid-sizer CBR 650F in India, there were hints that they will showcase more products to the audience as well.
Since this is expected to be a real ‘high voltage’ event there are obvious expectations of the smaller CBRs as well – the facelifts of the new CBR250R/CBR300R and the CBR150R.
To find out if Honda is ready to reveal something concrete on this, our Delhi correspondent Neelanjan, after confirming about the bookings of the new CBR 650F tried speaking to Mr Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI and posed a direct question – “Can we expect the new CBR150R and CBR250R in India soon?”
As a response, he gave a very diplomatic ‘YES’ nod but refused to divulge any more details! A natural outcome of this update is that we may expect either or both these motorcycles to be showcased/launched on the 4th of August in India. And if not, they are coming to us for sure, and soon…
While the CBR150R will get a different more ‘CBR’ like face and better mechanical updates, it is NOT confirmed if Honda will replace the existing CBR250R with the new more powerful CBR300R or instead, bring its (250Rs) facelift to India. With this, let us wait for 4th August which will unravel Honda’s plans…
