Honda Quashes CBR300R; CBR500R Also NOT Coming

Barely a few minutes back, we shared with you the confirmation on power figures of Hornet 160R by YS Guleria, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing. And now, take another one…

When we asked him about the possibility of the introduction of a more powerful CBR250R or the CBR300R, he confirmed that the upcoming CBR250R facelift which was showcased at the 4th August RevFest, will NOT get any power bump (which is already known). At the same time he said that they are NOT considering the CBR300R (already available internationally) for our market.

Saddened by this, we asked him if Honda has any plans of launching the CBR500R in India, which they have already showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo? Sadly, he quashed any possibility of this mid-sizer coming to India (which is even available in a smaller market like Pakistan) in the near future which essentially means there is nothing planned between CBR250R and CBR650F for the time being!

We seriously fail to understand one thing – why showcase a fancy production motorcycle from some international market at some local event when you do not have a wee bit of an interest in launching it here!!!
